Our Residences
Besides single rooms, many bedrooms are large enough to be shared by two residents.
We currently have 3 residences. The cottage is for the more capable residents, the main building is for the general population whilst the care centre is for those less capable residents.

The kitchen is modern and fully equipped and our culinary genius produces restaurant quality, wholesome and tasty meals from there. Residents, staff and management dine together. This communal dining ensures high quality meals.
The lounge area is furnished in bright vibrant colours and the DSTV, DVD’s and Sound System are enjoyed by all. This lounge area has recently been extended to create a bright sunny area.
Our residents have the freedom of the property and we work on the principle that the residents wish to stay with us and, accordingly, we are not compelled to enclose the property except for normal security.

Our Residents
Our residents participate in all sorts of activity taking their disability into account.
Trevelyn Lodge currently has the capacity for a maximum of 57 residents. Our residents, living communally, need to be able to function within a group and be reasonably independent, whilst the care centre has a large contingent of staff to provide any assistance the residents need.
Our main house residents also need to be mobile as we have limited facilities for wheelchairs. The care centre, however, was specifically designed to cater for wheelchairs and those residents who are a little wobbly on their feet.
Trevelyn Lodge offers high quality care where the welfare and happiness of the residents is paramount.
We have continuous Life and Social Skills training such as self-care, consideration, compromise, table manners, discretion, tolerance and general communal living coping skills and independence.
Our residents participate in all sorts of activity taking their disability into account. Those that are capable of work are encouraged to do so while the rest are occupied in physical activities and crafts. Residents participate in caring for our beautiful gardens. There are a maximum of two residents per bedroom.
Our acceptance criteria are limited to manageability and stability of the resident’s behaviour. We do not distinguish between Autism, Downs, Bipolar, Brain Injury, Epilepsy or Retardation; we love our work and take pleasure in the care we provide.
This facility is privately owned. We have a very close relationship with our residents and literally live amongst them. Our kitchen produces fine meals and everyone eats together. Our group home exudes a feeling of calm and gentleness and our residents’ dignity rules the day.
